The Okinawan Karate Center in Chesterland, Ohio was established in 1992 by Sensei Jayne Butram.

Meet Sensei

Sensei Butram began her martial arts training in 1974 and earned her first-degree Black Belt in Isshin-Ryu Karate. She then began to study Shorin-Ryu Karate, another Okinawan style of karate, and holds a Seventh-Degree Black Belt in Shorin-Ryu Karate and a Fifth-Degree Black Belt in Okinawan Weaponry.

She specializes in children’s and women’s safety concerns.

Sensei Butram is the Vice-President and Vice-Chairman of the Board for the Shorin-Ryu Karate and Kobudo Association of America. (www.beisho.org) She is also a certified radKids instructor. (www.radkids.org) and a certified A.L.I.C.E. instructor (www.alicetraining.com)
